The court did not agree to the removal from office of the head of the Kyiv City State Administration, a suspect in the case of 1.3 million UAH

The Kyiv City Prosecutor’s Office plans to appeal the court’s decision not to suspend Dmytro Zagumenny, the head of the Kyiv City State Administration, who was only given a night’s arrest, along with the former director of the Kyiv City State Administrative Court.

The prosecutor’s office confirmed its intention to appeal the court’s decision, refusing to remove Zagumenny from his position. Additionally, they will fight for a review of the preventive measures imposed on them, including those imposed on the former head of the Kyiv City State Administrative Court.

The Pechersk District Court, taking into account the validity of the suspicions, imposed a night’s house arrest on Zagumenny and his colleagues. The court also imposed several restrictions: the suspects are prohibited from leaving Kyiv without the investigator’s permission, are required to report any changes of residence, and are instructed to avoid contact with witnesses and other suspects. Additionally, they are required to submit documents for possible travel abroad. These restrictions will be in effect until October 13, 2025.

Zagumenny and the former director of the “ATP KSCA” are suspected of embezzling 1.3 million hryvnias. According to the investigation, budget funds were used to repair property in the center of Kyiv, which does not belong to the community and could not be financed from the city budget.
