Naftogaz has suspended the reception of meter readings: what to do next with data submission

In Ukraine, the procedure for submitting gas meter readings for Naftogaz consumers has changed. The company announced that it will no longer accept data through the mobile application or web version of Privat24. This caused an adverse reaction among many Ukrainians, since this service was considered one of the most convenient.

Naftogaz explained that Privat24 is no longer a partner channel for receiving readings. Customers are recommended to use the company’s official resources, including a personal account on the Naftogaz website, the GasUA mobile application, the call center phone, or chatbots in Telegram and Viber. Readings should be submitted from the 1st to the 5th of each month to avoid charges based on average readings.

The changes caused dissatisfaction among many consumers, as Privat24 had previously provided simplicity and speed of data entry without requiring additional registrations. Now, consumers will have to get used to new platforms, install new applications, or use a web-based account, which can be particularly challenging for older individuals or residents in areas with limited Internet access.

Analysts warn that the rejection of Privat24 could lead to an increase in the workload on the Naftogaz call center and confusion at the outset of implementing innovations. However, company representatives claim that the new data transmission channels are more reliable and secure.

Consumers are advised to test new methods of transmitting indicators in advance to avoid problems at the critical moment of submission. Otherwise, there is a risk of receiving bills with inflated indicators, which will require careful consideration and correction of issues.
