Debunking myths: the true purpose of daily pads and their safe use
Women’s health is not a private matter, and it should not be kept in the shadows. Especially when it comes to such familiar but essential things as daily pads.
Daily pads are a necessity that many still talk about with prejudice. However, in fact, they provide comfort and freshness at any time of the cycle. We consulted a gynecologist, who explained in detail why daily pads are necessary, how to use them correctly, and why they should not be feared.
What does discharge mean: norm or alarm?
Normal discharge is transparent or white, with a slight milky smell and moderate consistency. This is a sign of healthy microflora. Their absence may indicate problems. During the menstrual cycle, discharge changes: during menstruation, it is red; before ovulation, it is transparent and mucous; and after ovulation, it becomes less abundant and lighter. If an unpleasant smell, itching, or unusual color appears, this is a reason to see a doctor.
Why Stains on Underwear Are Not a Problem
Stains on underwear are a common occurrence that many women face due to natural discharge. Don’t worry if there are marks on your underwear – it’s completely normal. However, if they change color or smell, and you experience itching, don’t delay a visit to your gynecologist.
Myths about daily pads
There is an opinion that daily pads are harmful and unnecessary. This is not true! If you use them correctly, changing them every 3-4 hours and choosing high-quality materials, they help maintain freshness, protect your underwear, and reduce the risk of irritation.
“I don’t recommend wearing one pad for the whole day – this can lead to a disruption of the microflora and discomfort,” says the gynecologist.
How to choose the best daily pads
To feel comfortable:
Choose thin and flexible models that do not rub and are invisible under clothes;
Place the pad closer to the front of the underwear to avoid its displacement.
Give preference to hypoallergenic and “breathable” materials without fragrances.
Such attention to choice is particularly significant in hot weather, during ovulation, and between menstrual cycles, to always feel confident.
Ultimately, remember that proper care for women’s health is essential to a comfortable life.
