Massive attack on August 16: strikes in four regions, many injured

On the night of August 16, the Russian military launched a large-scale strike on Ukraine, using an Iskander-M ballistic missile, 85 Shahed combat drones, and simulated drones.

This was reported by the Ukrainian Air Force’s press service.

Air defense forces destroyed 61 drones. Unfortunately, hits of Russian missiles and 24 drones were recorded in 12 settlements.

In the Zaporizhia region, a drone struck rescuers from the State Emergency Service, who were battling a fire under challenging conditions. As a result of the attack, a fire and rescue vehicle was damaged, but the rescuers remained unharmed. In total, the invaders launched more than 400 attacks on 14 settlements of the region during the day. Sixty-four people were injured in the Polohiv district.

In the Kharkiv region, the villages of Prudyanka and Borova were hit. Residential buildings were damaged, but there were no casualties.

Although a significant number of drones were destroyed, the attacks resulted in serious consequences, including damage to buildings and numerous injuries.
