State support: which Ukrainians can access 200 thousand hryvnias?
Starting in 2025, young doctors will be able to receive significant financial support from the state. This applies to medical workers who will complete their internship and begin their careers in frontline areas or in rural areas.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, specialists who have completed their training in state medical institutions will be entitled to a one-time payment of 200,000 hryvnias. This initiative is designed to support doctors working in regions where there is a significant shortage of medical services. The program will operate during the period of martial law, with the possibility of extension in the future.
The process of obtaining assistance is regulated by the order of the Ministry of Health of July 30, 2025, number 1198.
### How can young doctors receive financial assistance?
First, you need to find a vacancy on the Unified Web Portal for Medical Workers in a state or municipal institution located in zones of active hostilities or in rural areas.
At the next stage, you should contact the selected medical institution and clarify two key questions:
1. Is the institution ready to conclude an employment contract for a period of at least three years?
2. What is the level of staffing of doctor positions? It should not exceed 75%.
If these conditions are met, a contract is concluded for three years or more, after which the medical institution provides the doctor with an official letter confirming the fulfillment of all requirements.
If the doctor is already employed at the medical institution, he can conclude a similar contract, provided that the vacancy was posted on the web portal.
By October 10, the doctor must submit to the higher educational institution where he completed his internship, an application addressed to the rector and the necessary package of documents, which includes:
– A copy of the employment contract;
– Copies of educational documents (diploma and qualification certificate), if they are not in the electronic database;
– A letter from the medical institution confirming compliance with the requirements;
– Documents on employment (extract from the Register of Insured Persons or a copy of the workbook, if available).
Documents can be submitted in person or sent by email.
After checking the submitted documents, the university will issue an order for the payment. Financing will be provided until the end of the budget year.
If a doctor resigns before the end of the contract for reasons related to breach of duty or at his own request, he is obliged to return the entire amount within 10 days. However, in the case of force majeure circumstances, such as disability of groups I-II, closure of the workplace, or conscription into military service, a refund will not be required.
