A technical supervision engineer was suspected of causing almost 750,000 hryvnias in damages during repairs
In the Podilskyi District Prosecutor’s Office of Kyiv, juvenile prosecutors have brought charges against an engineer responsible for technical supervision during the repair of a children’s sports school.
According to the Kyiv City Prosecutor’s Office, the suspect’s actions were qualified under Part 2 of Article 367 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which provides for improper performance of official duties with consequences that are difficult to assess.
It was established that due to inaction, the engineer did not inspect the volume of work performed on the overhaul of the Kozak Children’s Sports School in the Desnyanskyi district of the capital.
This resulted in significant financial losses for the Kyiv budget, amounting to approximately 750,000 hryvnias – the amount paid for work that was not completed.
The pre-trial investigation is being conducted by investigators of the Podilskyi Metro Police Department of the State Police in Kyiv with operational support from the State Security Service of Ukraine in the Kyiv region.
According to the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
It is worth noting that the director of this children’s sports school was previously suspected of embezzling budget funds for the same amount.
