Prosecutors of the Juvenile Prosecutor’s Office of the Podilsky District of Kyiv have charged an engineer who was responsible for technical supervision during the repair of a children’s sports school.

This was reported by the press service of the Kyiv Prosecutor’s Office.

The suspect’s actions were classified in accordance with Part 2 of Article 367 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine as improper performance of official duties due to irresponsibility, resulting in serious consequences.

It was established that the engineer did not verify the volume of work performed on the overhaul of the Kozak Children’s Sports School in the Desnyanskyi district, resulting in significant losses to the Kyiv budget, totaling almost 750,000 hryvnias, for work that was financed but not completed.

The director of the same sports school was also previously suspected of embezzling the same budget funds, for which he was charged under Article 191, Part 4, of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

The pre-trial investigation is being conducted by investigators of the Podilskyi metro police department with the support of the Security Service of Ukraine in Kyiv and the region.

According to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent until his guilt is proven in accordance with the procedure established by law and a guilty verdict is passed.
