Blocking accounts and confiscating property: they decided to “increase pressure” on tax evaders
Lawyer Marina Bekalo noted that the “wanted” status is not a reason to block bank accounts. In Ukraine, conscripts who have violated the rules of military registration receive such a status. Then, the police are obliged to deliver them to the territorial recruitment center (TCC) to complete a report on an administrative violation.
Currently, accounts can be blocked only if there is an official fine imposed in accordance with the legislation on military registration. This fine is formalized in a document issued by the head of the TCC. If a complaint is not filed against the fine within 10 days, it enters into force. After that, the case is transferred to the enforcement service, which can arrest the accounts or other property of the debtor.
We remind you that blocking accounts is possible only if there is a valid resolution on a fine and its unsatisfactory execution. It is also important to remember: if the fine is not paid within 10 days, it doubles. The size of the fine varies from 17 to 25.5 thousand hryvnias, and for officials and legal entities, the penalties may be higher.
Therefore, control over compliance with military registration and related fines remains a crucial topic, and the legal environment requires the proper implementation of these rules.
