There was a significant fire in the Dnieper: smoke covered several areas of the city
The large-scale fire swept the right bank of the Dnieper: smoke is visible from different areas of the city.
On Friday, September 5, a large fire occurred in the Dnieper, the smoke of which rose tens of meters into the air, which was noticeable from many parts of the city. The incident happened in the territory of the former combine plant, where storage facilities are now located.
Eyewitnesses report that black smoke was so intense that its smell was felt at a considerable distance. Residents of homes in neighboring areas closed the windows, trying to avoid the odor and suffocating air.
Rescuers are actively working at the scene with SES, who used several units of special equipment. Their purpose is to localize the ignition to avoid spreading fire to the surrounding buildings. Police blocked the entrances to the plant, and medical crews are ready to assist. There is no information about the victims.
One of the locals, Alexander, noted that even before the arrival of rescuers, he called the SES hotline, as plastic materials that caused intense smoke could remain in the territory. Other eyewitnesses confirm that there was a sharp smell of plastic and rubber in the air. In connection with the event, they temporarily changed the routes of public transport.
The investigation is currently underway to establish the causes of ignition and evaluate the damage caused. Representatives of the enterprise are still refraining from comment, as documents and surveys of employees are ongoing.
We will remind you that on September 2, in the sky above the Dnieper, there was an unusual cloud that resembled an explosive mushroom, causing lively discussions among the inhabitants. In fact, it was a pile-day cloud with a characteristic “hat”.
