Being left without funds: what are the consequences of not withdrawing pension from the card
Current Ukrainian pensioners can receive their pensions through bank cards or through Ukrposhta. However, there is one important nuance to consider.
If the pension card is not used for six months, financial payments are suspended. However, these funds do not disappear – they remain in the Pension Fund, but are not transferred to the person’s account.
The pension can be received later, but it should be noted that the money remains available for only three years. If the account remains inactive for an extended period, these payments may be lost.
What actions should be taken to avoid losing your pension?
To avoid problems with receiving your pension, it is enough to perform any transaction on the card once a month, for example:
Withdraw a small amount;
Pay utility bills;
Top up your mobile phone balance.
Thus, funds on the pension card can accumulate, but you need to use the account periodically to avoid suspension of payments.
If the deadlines have already passed and payments have been suspended, you will have to go through the identification procedure to resume them. This can be done both in person at the Pension Fund branch and via video call or through the PFU web portal using the Action feature. Signature.
