Macrons to present ‘scientific evidence’ in US court to prove Brigitte is a woman – BBC

Emmanuel Macron and his wife, Brigitte, are preparing to submit documents to a US court confirming that Brigitte is a woman. The BBC published this information.

The corresponding step is planned to be taken as part of a lawsuit against the far-right influencer Candice Owens, who made a statement that Brigitte Macron was allegedly born a man. In defense of Owens, her lawyers have filed a motion to close the case.

In an interview with the BBC podcast “Fame Under Fire”, the Macrons’ lawyer, Tom Clare, noted that such accusations have become “extremely painful” for Brigitte and have created a “distraction” for the French president. He emphasized that attacks on their family are exhausting for anyone, even the president.

The lawyer noted that scientific examinations will be presented in the case, the details of which are still being kept secret. However, he emphasized that the couple is ready to prove the falsity of all accusations. “It’s extremely humiliating to be in a situation where you have to prove these things,” Claire added, emphasizing that Brigitte is determined to defend the truth, even if it requires revealing her personal life.

Regarding possible evidence, the lawyer confirmed that photos of Brigitte during pregnancy will be provided in court, in accordance with the requirements of procedural rules.

Candice Owens, a former commentator for the conservative media outlet “Daily Wire”, has repeatedly expressed her position on Brigitte, stating that she considers her husband. In March 2024, Owens indicated her readiness to “put her reputation on the line” to confirm her words.

These allegations arose several years ago and received considerable publicity after the publication of videos by French bloggers in 2021. In 2024, the Macrons won a defamation case in France; however, in 2025, the decision was overturned by the Court of Appeal on Grounds of Freedom of Expression.

In July of this year, the Macrons filed a lawsuit against Owens in the United States, claiming that she had ignored all credible evidence to refute her claims, preferring to cooperate with conspiracy theorists.

Owens’ lawyers filed a motion to dismiss the lawsuit, arguing that the case was not related to their client’s business and that the proceedings in Delaware would be a severe financial burden for her.
