Iskander ballistic missiles hit a training unit of the Armed Forces of Ukraine: there are casualties
The Ground Forces reported an Iskander missile strike on a training unit of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
On September 24, the enemy carried out a combined attack on the territory of one of the training units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, using, among other things, two Iskander ballistic missiles.
As a result of the missile hitting the shelter accurately, despite the safety measures taken, losses were recorded among the military personnel. Emergency services are on the scene, providing necessary medical assistance to the injured.
The military emphasizes that safe shelters are continually being established on the training centers’ and training grounds’ territories to protect personnel. Additional measures are being taken to maximize the protection of the military during possible missile and air attacks.
The Mykolaivskyi Vanyok Telegram channel commented on the situation, noting that this is not the first case of losses in the Chernihiv region, and criticized the effectiveness of the region’s air defense system. They emphasized that hostile drones are often found over the territory of the area, which increases the risk for the military, and shifting responsibility to the soldiers themselves in such a situation is unacceptable.
It was previously reported that Russian reconnaissance drones were flying over the training unit’s territory of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
On June 22, Russian troops shelled the training ground of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, where training was taking place with the personnel of the mechanized brigade.
