14,000 UAH for 50 kopecks: which coins will interest collectors
At first glance, an ordinary 50 kopeck coin from 1994 can become extremely valuable to its owner. According to a specialized source, rare varieties of these coins can cost from 2,000 to 14,000 hryvnias.
Among numismatists, two varieties of 50 kopeck coins are of particular value: 1.1АГм and 1.2АЭс. Other coins of this year are usually valued at no more than 50 hryvnias or are sold at face value.
How to recognize the 1.1АГм variety:
Has small holes in the lower part of the trident.
The gaps between the leaf and the process have a trapezoidal shape.
A band with a small notch.
There is another similar variety, 2агм, where the holes in the trident are larger. It is valued at 5-30 hryvnias.
How to recognize the 1.2АЭс variety:
Has small holes in the lower part of the trident.
In clusters No. 1, 7, and 8, the tail does not fit the berry.
A cluster of medium notch (8 pcs.).
It is known that numismatists have discovered fewer than ten 1.2AES coins, and they were not in circulation. One of these coins was sold at the Violet auction for 20 thousand hryvnias in 2022.
It was previously noted that this coin could be worth up to 14 thousand hryvnias; Ukrainians are advised to check their piggy banks and wallets.
It was also reported that a Soviet watch, even in a faulty condition, can be worth a significant amount.
In general, be cautious: some Ukrainian currency notes are no longer valid, as banks and exchangers do not accept them.
