Elon Musk’s father accused of child abuse

Errol Musk, the father of billionaire Elon Musk, has been accused of abusing his five biological and adopted children, according to the New York Times.

According to court documents, personal correspondence, and family members’ testimonies, the first complaints against him were made in 1993. Then his four-year-old stepdaughter told about Errol’s inappropriate behavior in the family home.

Ten years later, the same girl reported witnessing strange actions by her father concerning her personal belongings. Other family members also expressed concern about Errol’s behavior towards his two daughters and stepson.

In 2023, after Errol’s five-year-old son reported inappropriate actions by his father, the family and a social worker decided to intervene.

These episodes have led to three separate police investigations: two have been concluded, and information about the third is still missing. Errol Musk, 79, has not been convicted in any of the cases.

At this point, Errol, who is the father of at least nine children and stepchildren and has been married three times, remains an influential figure in his family.

A former stepdaughter, who claims to have suffered from his actions as a child, later faced problems with drug addiction. Errol claims that at the age of 29, she sought help from him, after which she gave birth to his child. It was this boy who, at the age of five, expressed concerns about his father’s behavior.

The accusations have caused serious conflict within the Musk family. Some relatives have decided to seek help from Elon Musk, Errol’s eldest son. Around 2010, a relative sent him a letter that correctly outlined parts of the allegations and a request for intervention.

“We need your support and advice, because we see these children suffering every day,” the letter said.

It is not known whether Elon himself read this letter, but his assistant responded to the appeal. It is also known that the billionaire provided financial support to his half-siblings from his father’s third marriage and sought to ensure that they were in California, away from Errol.

Errol himself strongly denies all the allegations, calling them “empty.” In a comment to The Guardian, he provided a list of his answers to the NYT’s questions, noting that it was “absolute nonsense.”

He also accused the relatives of inciting the children to make false statements and trying to put pressure on Elon Musk.

“There is no evidence, it’s just speculation,” he concluded.
