The SBU and the National Police detained two new collaborators in the Kherson region

The Security Service of Ukraine and the National Police have identified two new collaborators who collaborated with the occupiers during Russia’s temporary control over the Kherson region.

This is indicated by information provided by the SBU press service.

One of the detainees was a 40-year-old man who, after the capture of the local community, voluntarily decided to become part of the Russian system. He received the position of “junior inspector of the Department of Execution of Sentences in the Kherson region of the Russian Federation”. He supervised the cells where resistance activists were held.

The second suspect is a store owner from the Berislavsky district, who organized housing for Russian soldiers in the homes of her fellow villagers who were forced to leave for territories controlled by Ukraine. She also supplied food to the occupiers and passed on information about those who opposed this regime. She was detained during a special operation in a rented apartment in the Dnipropetrovsk region, where she fled after the liberation of Kherson.

Both defendants were charged under Parts 4 and 7 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which concerns collaboration. The perpetrators may face up to 15 years in prison with confiscation of property.

SBU officers carried out the operations with the support of the National Police in Mykolaiv, Kherson, and Vinnytsia regions under the leadership of regional prosecutors.
