The head of the department was removed from his post due to an incident on the Day of Mourning.

On October 13, Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko signed an order officially dismissing Mykola Povoroznyk from the position of First Deputy Head of the Kyiv City State Administration. According to the document, Povoroznyk will be paid compensation for one day of unused vacation.

The reason for the dismissal was the circumstances of a celebration organized on the territory of a municipal enterprise. Media information indicates that Povoroznyk organized a feast with kebabs during the official mourning in the Svyatoshynskyi district, which was announced in memory of the civilians killed in a missile strike.

Against this background, the police opened criminal proceedings, in which not only Povoroznyk appears, but also several other government officials who are accused of abuse of power.

Although the Kyiv City Council supported the dismissal of Povoroznyk on June 10, 2025, its implementation was delayed. The Pecherskyi District Court of Kyiv prohibited the Kyiv City State Administration and the City Council from taking any actions related to his dismissal.

In addition, Povoroznyk was excluded from the city’s Investment Council, further indicating his removal from management processes.
