Evaders will receive deferments: wanted and without a military ticket

The Verkhovna Rada adopted a law changing the rules for the reservation of workers during martial law.

According to the innovations, enterprises were able to book not only employees with military tickets, but also those who have not updated their data or are wanted. This initiative was supported by 272 People’s Deputies, the purpose of which is to preserve jobs for specialists in critical areas, even if their military records are incorrectly completed or are absent altogether.

Reservations are now available to all conscripts working in the defense sector or in areas vital to the country, such as energy, transport, medicine, utilities, and others. Even if the employee does not have a military registration document or is not registered, companies can apply for his reservation, even if he is currently wanted.

However, the law imposes restrictions: the reservation period cannot exceed 45 days from the date the employment contract is concluded, and the company can exercise this right only once a year.

It is worth noting that the innovations will help simplify business procedures and reduce confusion in military accounting. This decision will also enable companies that play an essential role in ensuring the country’s economic stability in wartime conditions to retain highly qualified personnel.
