Get ready for additional costs: a significant increase in payment of more than 20%
In Zhytomyr, it is planned to increase tariffs for the removal of solid household waste. This initiative was announced by three companies that provide these services in the city during a briefing at the city council.
Head of the Housing Department, Andriy Gumenyuk, commented that the current tariff has remained unchanged since 2021, and the last adjustment occurred only in August 2022 due to rising fuel prices. He noted that the economic situation has changed significantly and that current prices are not adequate to cover enterprises’ costs.
One of the main reasons for the tariff revision was the increase in the minimum wage to 8 thousand hryvnias, as well as a 12-15% increase in fuel prices. In addition, the costs of spare parts, repairs, and equipment maintenance have increased. Another factor is the increase in companies’ tax burden.
After updating the tariffs, the service cost for the population may increase by approximately 21%. Currently, consumers pay about UAH 53.75 per month per person, and after the revision, this amount will be about UAH 64.77, which is UAH 11 more.
The authorities note that the new tariff will allow carriers to cover the real costs of providing a waste collection and disposal system and ensure its stable functioning.
