How to get sick leave: who needs to update information in the PFU

The Pension Fund of Ukraine urges citizens to update their personal data in the Register of Insured Persons. This is necessary for unhindered access to electronic sick leave and other services.

The relevance of information in the registers is critical, as outdated or incorrect data may prevent the system from identifying a person, resulting in the electronic sick leave not being generated. Updating data will ensure quick access to state services without additional certificates and visits to institutions.

It is important to note that the questionnaire should be submitted by those who have had changes in personal information or have found inaccuracies in the Register. This applies not only to pensioners, but also to all insured persons, since everyone should check their records. As the Pension Fund notes, it is better to correct errors now than to waste time when medical care is needed.

It is most convenient to submit a questionnaire through your personal account on the Pension Fund’s web portal. This process involves a few simple steps, after which you can upload supporting documents. The portal will provide recommendations on the necessary documents and allow you to monitor the status of your application online.

To apply, prepare your passport, TIN (or a document replacing it), and other documents confirming your identity and any changes to your data. If your last name or address has changed, prepare a certificate confirming this.

What you should check in your personal account of the Pension Fund:

last name, first name, patronymic;
date and place of birth;
gender;
citizenship;
passport series and number;
registration address;
contact phone number (with consent).
If errors are found, you must submit a questionnaire to clarify the data. After processing, the information is synchronized with electronic services, so when the doctor issues a certificate of incapacity for work, it will be automatically updated without delay.
