Additional support for Ukrainian pensioners in addition to the basic pension

In the context of the military conflict in Ukraine, pensioners can take advantage of additional support, including financial assistance. This was announced by the Chairman of the Board of the Pension Fund of Ukraine, Yevhen Kapinus, in an interview with a TV channel.

In addition to the basic pension, elderly citizens who evacuated from temporarily occupied territories or regions with active hostilities have the right to receive financial assistance of 2,000 to 3,000 hryvnias, depending on their status.

Assistance in the form of funds for solid fuel from international organizations has also been prepared for the residents of the frontline zones. This assistance is an essential component of social support, making it much easier for the most vulnerable categories of the population to prepare for the heating season.

It is noted that among the recipients of this assistance are single disabled pensioners living in the Sumy, Kharkiv, Kherson, Luhansk, Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhya, Mykolaiv, and Chernihiv regions who use solid fuel for heating.

Pension forecasts until the end of the year

According to current legislation, several mass pension transfers are planned. This includes annual indexation, recalculation for working pensioners, as well as changes related to the increase in the subsistence minimum and the highest salary, which are approved in the law on the State Budget for the current year.

Yevhen Kapinus emphasized that indexation of pensions took place in March, and since April, recalculations have been carried out for citizens who continue to work after retirement.

Also, the Pension Fund conducts regular monthly calculations that take into account changes in the average salary, new work experience, or the dismissal of pensioners, as well as their reaching a certain age—65, 70, 75, or 80 years.

Recently, information has appeared in the media about the new indexation of pensions, the conditions under which some pensioners may be left without a promotion, and cases in which a certain length of service is not counted for receiving payments.
