Magnetic storm October 18–19: tips for protecting the body from sun exposure

On October 18 and 19, the Earth will be affected by a moderate magnetic storm, rated as G2. According to the British Geological Survey, this phenomenon was caused by several coronal mass ejections on the Sun that occurred in recent days. Scientists emphasize that some of these ejections could merge on their way to Earth, leading to increased solar energy and magnetic field disturbances.

Space weather physicist Dr. Tamita Skov also noted that four separate solar storms are moving towards our planet, the most noticeable of which is expected over the weekend.

Magnetic storms can negatively affect health, particularly among people with cardiovascular disease or high blood pressure. Doctors recommend minimizing stress, avoiding overwork, and getting more rest. It is essential to maintain water balance, get fresh air, and adhere to a regular sleep schedule.

You should also eat light meals and reduce your coffee and alcohol consumption. Those taking medication should stick to their dosing schedule and check their blood pressure regularly. These simple recommendations will help you get through the period of increased solar activity more easily.
