Women are encouraged to actively participate in mobilization without relying on men

In Ukraine, the issue of women’s military registration is being actively discussed. Ivan Tymochko, head of the council of reservists of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, assures that there is no need to fear this issue, as in other countries, women have long taken their place in military structures.

Tymochko noted that the more women participate in military activities, the less dissatisfaction there will be with a possible draft under pressure. “It is necessary to break stereotypes,” he emphasized.

In many countries, particularly in Israel and the Scandinavian countries, women serve on an equal footing with men, and this does not cause controversy. Modern wars require not only frontline fighters but also specialists in information technology, medicine, law, and accounting.

Tymochko also believes that maintaining a register of specialties functional during mobilization is appropriate and legal. Professions should not be divided by gender. “Service for women remains voluntary,” he added.

At the same time, he warns of possible political manipulations that could create panic regarding the conscription of women. “This is just a show that only increases chaos and distracts from serious topics,” the military man summarizes.

Tymochko emphasized that women are already actively participating in the Armed Forces and working in various fields, from medical to logistics. “I would like my wife to be next to me, not behind me,” he admitted.

In conclusion, he emphasized that the threat from the enemy does not depend on gender, since bombs do not distinguish who you are. “Therefore, it is important to discuss these issues constructively and without emotions,” Tymochko added.
