Ukrainians will receive 6,500 hryvnias in aid: who is the recipient?

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has approved a new social initiative called “Winter Support”, which is aimed at supporting the most vulnerable segments of the population during the cold season. This program provides for a one-time cash payment of 6,500 hryvnias. Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko announced this on her Telegram channel.

The program is aimed at assisting groups such as orphans, children under guardianship, children with disabilities in foster and guardian families, internally displaced children, as well as older adults living independently.

Payments will be made automatically through the Pension Fund of Ukraine, aiming to reduce bureaucratic delays and speed up the accrual of funds. The program launch is scheduled for early December, and the funds received can be used to purchase vital goods, such as medicines, warm clothing, shoes, and other necessities. The program is expected to reach more than 660,000 people nationwide.

In addition, the government plans to expand support for people with disabilities by creating a comprehensive system that will help both people with disabilities and their families. This will allow for an increase in the amount of benefits, which can range from 2,400 to 8,000 hryvnias, depending on the disability group and individual needs.
