Zelensky reported that Ukraine destroyed 14 Russian missiles overnight

President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that overnight, Ukrainian air defense systems had shot down 14 Russian missiles that were threatening residential areas in Kyiv. Among those shot down were two aeroballistic and six ballistic missiles. The Ukrainian leader stressed that the country continues to strengthen its capabilities to intercept such threats.

He also instructed diplomats to intensify an information campaign for foreign partners about the nature of the Russian attack and the areas to be attacked. That night, Russian troops again attempted to strike residential areas and energy facilities in the capital.

Zelensky confirmed that Ukrainian forces had used Long Neptunes to strike specific targets on Russian territory, noting that this was an adequate response to the aggressor’s continued attacks.

“This night, our military successfully used the Long Neptunes on designated targets in enemy territory. This is our justified response to the ongoing long-term terror. The successes of Ukrainian missiles allow us to achieve tangible and accurate results,” the president emphasized.

Explosions were recorded in temporarily occupied Donetsk on September 17, probably as a result of Ukrainian forces striking the command post of the 41st Army, as well as striking the control post of the 20th Motorized Rifle Division. Oleksandr Syrsky reported on the situation in the Pokrovsky direction, emphasizing the importance of interaction between the command and units engaged in combat in this area.
