The enemy is preparing a new attack: the regions that Russia plans to seize have been identified

The Russian army does not plan to launch a major offensive in Ukraine this winter. Military operations will continue until Russia consolidates control over the four Ukrainian regions included in its constitution. This was stated by military analyst and former colonel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Roman Svitan, in an interview.

Svitan emphasized that Russia’s primary goal remains control over the Donetsk region and the left-bank parts of the Zaporizhia region. The occupiers will increase their troops and resources to achieve these goals, even if they temporarily suspend active offensives in the Kherson direction.

The expert noted that Russia may focus on the eastern direction, abandoning operations in the Kharkiv region, but will not abandon its plans to seize the Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhia, and Kherson regions, as well as Crimea. These territories are enshrined in the Russian constitution, and various resources will be involved in their control.

Svitan believes the current phase of the conflict is far from over. The real final offensive may occur in three years, when the impact of Ukrainian strikes on the Russian economy will erode the country’s stability. During this period, the Russian army will demonstrate activity that, according to the analyst, will be a last attempt to achieve its goals, in particular, in the offensive on the Luhansk and Donetsk regions, as well as in the left-bank regions of Kharkiv and Zaporizhia.
