Thousands of business contacts with Russia are stored in Ukraine: YouControl study

In Ukraine, more than 6,500 companies and individual entrepreneurs have been identified as having ties to Russian legal entities.

To date, 5,817 companies and 686 individual entrepreneurs in Ukraine have been identified that may have ties to Russian legal entities. Such data were published in a new study conducted by the analytical company YouControl.

The leaders in terms of the number of such companies are the Donetsk region, Kyiv, and the Luhansk region. At the same time, the capital also has the most significant number of individual entrepreneurs with potential ties to Russian business.

According to analysts, in 2024, the revenue of companies with possible ties to the Russian sector increased by 30% compared to 2023. Among the identified companies are 14 political organizations, including “United Rus”, which was previously known as “Putin’s Policy Party”.

The study is based on data from the Unified State Register of Ukraine and the Register of Legal Entities of Russia. Analysts found connections between more than 6.5 thousand Ukrainian companies and more than 12 thousand Russian enterprises. Some Ukrainian firms have connections with several Russian legal entities.

Despite the large number of identified connections, analysts note a trend of decreasing active connections: from 2024 to October 2025, 755 companies and 84 individual entrepreneurs had connections with Russian legal entities that have since become historical. This is mainly due to the liquidation of Russian enterprises or changes in their composition.

Most companies with probable connections to Russia operate in the trade sector (1,271 entities); about 1,000 are engaged in real estate, more than 670 in the processing industry, and another 625 in the agricultural sector. Four hundred two companies with a potential Russian footprint were also identified in the construction sector.

Among individual entrepreneurs, the most significant number is registered in the Kyiv, Donetsk, Zaporizhia, Luhansk, and Kharkiv regions. More than a third of them work in trade, the rest in real estate, professional services, and gastronomy.

The study also highlights the ties of political parties with Russia. For example, “United Rus” has a joint leader with two Russian companies registered in Crimea.

In addition, analysts analyzed the ties between Ukrainian officials and participants in Russian companies. According to estimates, of the 5,817 companies studied, only 792 reported a positive financial result in 2024. The total income of these enterprises amounted to 150.3 billion hryvnias, which is 38% more than in the previous year. The largest income – 43.5 billion hryvnias – was received by LLC “ADM UKRAINE”, which is part of the international agricultural group Archer Daniels Midland and holds stakes in Russian companies.

It is worth noting that new tea brands have begun to appear in Ukraine, which, as journalists have found out, may be based on old schemes with Russian influence.
