The Russians are using their numerical advantage: for every one of our fighters, there are ten of their opponents.

Major Oleg Glushko, who commands the 3rd mechanized battalion of the Special Forces Brigade, spoke about the main difficulties that Ukrainian soldiers face on the front line every day. In an interview with the KYIV24 channel, he highlighted the significant numerical superiority of Russian forces, which is exerting tremendous pressure on Ukrainian positions.

Glushko emphasized that the real ratio of forces can reach one Ukrainian fighter to ten Russians. “There are ten of them for one of our infantrymen, that’s the minimum,” he noted.

In addition to the enemy’s numerical superiority, the major also discussed other factors that significantly complicate the organization of defense and offensive operations. He highlighted the Russian army’s active use of aviation and modern drones, particularly FPV drones, which have become important in combat operations.

“The use of their aviation and drones seriously affects our logistics and complicates the performance of tasks,” Glushko emphasized. These technological innovations create additional difficulties for the Ukrainian military in terms of ensuring and coordinating actions on the front.

A recent analysis of the situation confirms that Ukraine must prepare for a challenging winter period, as the war enters its final stages. Other forecasts indicate an increase in attacks by Russian troops in the winter, which could threaten many Ukrainian cities.
