Anton Shukhnin, Domino founder, lost a case in Kyiv due to a traffic accident – media
The Court held a hearing on the case of entrepreneur Anton Shukhnin, whose car was involved in a traffic accident with an animal on the highway. The driver pleaded guilty and received a minimal fine.
According to sources, the founder of the Domino chain of stores, Anton Shukhnin, became a party to an administrative case heard in November 2023 at the Makariv District Court of the Kyiv region. The incident occurred on October 3, late in the evening, on the M-06 highway.
The Mercedes-Benz car driven by Shukhnin hit an animal that suddenly appeared on the road. The vehicle sustained mechanical damage, and the patrol police recorded the accident and prepared a report in accordance with Article 124 of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses. There were no victims, except for the car.
The Court found that the driver did not have time to avoid the collision. In such situations, the law provides for administrative liability, regardless of the presence of victims. Shukhnin admitted the accident, signed a diagram of the scene, and did not interfere with the consideration of the case.
Although the entrepreneur did not appear at the meeting, he was notified and did not request a postponement of the hearing. Lawyers note that such behavior indicates that the driver admits his guilt and does not try to challenge the apparent facts. The Court imposed a fine of 850 UAH on him, and also collected a court fee of 536.80 UAH.
Experts note that Shukhnin did not try to avoid responsibility or challenge the decision, indicating his responsible attitude toward the situation. In such cases, many entrepreneurs end up in lengthy legal disputes, but this case was resolved quickly and without conflict. As a result, the incident shows how even an unpleasant situation can be resolved in a civilized manner without delay.
