The court adopted a new preventive measure for Ruslan Maghamedrasulov, related to the anti-corruption investigation

The court decided to release Ruslan Maghamedrasulov from custody, as confirmed by local sources.

In addition, the preventive measure for his father, Sentabr Maghamedrasulov, was changed the day before. Both are suspected of attempting to illegally export industrial hemp to Dagestan and conducting financial transactions related to Russia. Law enforcement officers are investigating a possible case of illegal trade.

Ruslan Maghamedrasulov believes that the criminal proceedings are related to his participation in Operation Midas, where he served as a detective who recorded evidence of abuse that formed the basis for a large-scale corruption investigation. This investigation led to the dismissal of several high-ranking officials.

Maghamedrasulov believes that the case against him is an act of revenge for his professional activities and has a political overtone.

Operation Midas was aimed at exposing corrupt actions in the highest echelons of government. Thanks to the detective team’s efforts, evidence was collected that helped bring several influential people to justice.

The investigation into the possible illegal export is currently ongoing. The court has not yet made final decisions, but Ruslan and his father are currently at large.

It should also be noted that the National Anti-Corruption Bureau has temporarily suspended publication of new information in the Midas case due to restrictions imposed by martial law.
