The Armed Forces of Ukraine reported about the “death zone”: which city was under threat

In Pokrovsk, the situation remains critical, as the front line passes through the railway tracks. This was stated on the air of “Kyiv 24” by the head of the communications department of the 155th separate mechanized brigade, Artem Pribilnov.

He noted that the city was affected by difficult weather conditions, in particular thick fog and low visibility, which makes it difficult to detect the enemy, who is trying to act in small groups. This leads to the formation of so-called “gray zones” – areas that are not controlled by either side.

According to Pribilnov, the railway tracks have become a significant barrier for the enemy: the open terrain has turned into a dangerous “kill zone” where Ukrainian units are actively neutralizing the enemy through assault operations and guided aircraft. “There is a large number of enemy infantry in Pokrovsk, and they are constantly being destroyed. Sometimes it looks like terrible scenes,” he emphasized.

He also noted that clay soil makes it difficult for the enemy to move, and weather conditions create both difficulties and opportunities for the Ukrainian military. For example, fog allows for less noticeable personnel rotation.

Military expert, reserve colonel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Roman Svitan, expressed the opinion that Russia will try to seize territory in the Donetsk and Zaporizhia regions during the winter offensive. “Russian troops will try to stretch our forces along the flanks, especially in the Kharkiv region, in the Volchansk area, in the Kupyansk direction. They will also continue to press in the Kherson region, where the enemy will try to advance to Kherson,” the expert added.
