Women’s mobilization: who urgently needs to update information

Martial law in Ukraine, which has been in effect since February 24, 2022, obliges a specific category of women to register with the military and regularly update their personal data in the CCC and SP. It is important to note that this applies only to selected groups, and mobilization for women remains voluntary.

Head of the communications group of the Kirovograd Regional CCC and SP Polina Kravchenko noted that women with medical and pharmaceutical specialties, as well as representatives of other professions that are included in the list of military registration specialties, are subject to military service. These women are registered, but cannot be mobilized without their consent.

A separate category is women who have completed basic military training voluntarily – they can register of their own free will. Those who hold the military ranks of officer, sergeant, or reserve soldier should keep in mind that they are subject to military service regardless of their type of activity.

Under current legislation, other women are not subject to automatic registration or compulsory mobilization. As Polina Kravchenko emphasized, the mandatory conscription of women does not apply – mobilization can only take place with their consent. Some women, mainly representatives of the medical professions, may be automatically entered into registration acts based on data from state registers.

If a woman is already registered in the military, under martial law conditions, she must update her data. This can be done through the “Diya” and “Rezerv+” applications, in person at the CCK and SP, or at the ASNAP. Changes, such as a change of address, place of work, health status, or marital status, must be reported within seven days. Otherwise, fines ranging from 17,000 to 25,500 hryvnias may be imposed for violating military registration rules.
