People’s Deputy Shufrych’s family is unable to raise 33 million for his bail

The Kyiv Court of Appeals has ruled against People’s Deputy Nestor Shufrych, who is suspected of high treason. A preventive measure in the form of bail for more than 33 million hryvnias was set for him. Shufrych is a representative of the banned in Ukraine party “Opposition Platform – For Life”.

Shufrych’s lawyer, Dmytro Savytsky, announced information about the court’s decision. He emphasized that the bail amount is beyond the deputy’s means, given his public status. The defense attorney also indicated that Shufrych has been subject to personal sanctions by the National Security and Defense Council, which have led to the blocking of his assets and the inability to conduct financial transactions.

Additionally, Shufrych has been in custody for more than two years, is unable to work, and does not receive a salary. His defense team emphasizes the lack of funds and considers bail payment unlikely.

As a reminder, in November 2025, the court extended Shufrych’s detention without bail until January 17, 2026, while his former assistant was left under house arrest until January 19.

Earlier, former MP Ihor Mosiychuk posted information about the death of Nestor Shufrych on his Telegram channel, but this news was soon refuted.
