До завершення зими ситуація не покращиться: доведеться адаптуватися до умов без опалення та електрики

The situation will not improve until the end of winter: we will have to adapt to conditions without heating and electricity.

Ukraine’s energy system remains functional, but one should not expect a quick improvement in heating and electricity supply. Yuriy Korolchuk, an expert from the Institute of Energy Strategies, pointed this out on Ukrainian Radio.

He emphasized that the main generation facilities, such as Kyiv CHPP-5 and CHPP-6, cannot be destroyed, but their efficiency has significantly decreased due to enemy actions. This did not lead to a complete shutdown of operations, but capacity decreased, resulting in a reduction in the volume of coolant supplied to consumers.

The expert noted that both CHPPs continue to operate, but it is difficult to ensure their stable operation until the end of the heating season. The main problem is not broken pipes, which can be quickly repaired. The main thing is to compensate for the pressure and power deficits in the thermal equipment that provides hot water production and supply.

The situation depends on the specific region: in places where local boiler houses operate, there may be more heat, so in some houses there is hot water, but no heating, and vice versa. These differences are associated with the peculiarities of heating network operation.

Similar problems with electricity supply: in some regions, power outages are accompanied by the preservation of heat thanks to autonomous boiler houses. The expert urged Ukrainians to view such differences not as injustice, but as a consequence of a complex, branched energy system that cannot operate simultaneously across all regions.

Summing up, Korolchuk noted that by the end of winter, major improvements should not be expected, and Ukrainians will have to continue adapting to interruptions in heating and electricity supply.
