Ukraine to introduce hourly power outage schedules on January 20

Ukraine’s power system is forced to operate under restrictions due to the consequences of missile and drone attacks by the Russian Federation. To restore stable operation, Ukrenergo will introduce controlled power outages.

On January 20, the country’s power system will operate with restrictions. Hourly power outage schedules for the population are being introduced across all regions, along with capacity restrictions for enterprises. NPC Ukrenergo published this information.

These actions became necessary in connection with another massive missile and drone strike that damaged energy infrastructure facilities. There was a need for additional load balancing in the system.

Energy experts emphasize that the situation remains tense and may change during the day. Therefore, hourly outage schedules are not fixed and may be adjusted depending on the actual state of electricity generation and consumption.

Information on the number of queues that can be activated simultaneously is usually not disclosed. Citizens are advised to independently check the current outage schedules for their addresses on the official websites of regional energy companies.

In addition, energy experts call on Ukrainians to be responsible for their electricity consumption. When electricity is supplied according to schedule, it is recommended to reduce the use of powerful household appliances to lower the system load and help maintain its stability.

We remind you that on January 19, hourly power outage schedules for the population, as well as restrictions on power consumption for industry, will be in effect throughout Ukraine.
