SBI focuses on BREZ: monitoring mobilization and reintegration of military personnel after the NWCH
After an interdepartmental meeting held on January 10 at the Office of the President of Ukraine, the State Bureau of Investigation clarified the tasks for its regional units regarding the work of reserve battalions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In particular, these are units that are engaged in mobilization, training and rotation of personnel. The main goal of these measures is to prevent abuse and ensure a transparent mobilization process.
In response to the decisions made during the meeting, the State Bureau of Investigation has implemented a number of actions to strengthen control over the activities of reserve battalions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. These units play a key role in the processes of mobilization, training and strengthening of combat units, therefore their effectiveness directly affects the defense capability of Ukraine.
As part of the implementation of the tasks set, the State Bureau of Investigation initiated working meetings with the command and personnel of reserve battalions, as well as representatives of the Armed Forces, the Military Law Enforcement Service, the National Police and other law enforcement agencies. During these meetings, interdepartmental interaction is adjusted and practical assistance is provided to the brigade command in solving urgent problems. Some meetings have already taken place, others are planned for the near future.
Within a short time, SBI employees conducted inspections in reserve battalions, in particular in matters related to servicemen who plan to return to service. According to the results of the inspections, both systemic and individual violations were identified, requiring an urgent response from the command and, in some cases, an interagency solution.
All the identified facts were brought to the attention of the leadership of the Office of the President, the command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other relevant bodies. The SBI assures that it will further focus on the activities of reserve battalions to minimize violations and strengthen the integration of these units into a single system for protecting the national interests of Ukraine.
