Mining of the territory of Ukraine: the threat of 500 explosive devices
On January 30, Detector Media and other media outlets received a series of letters with mine threats. The authors of the messages claim to have planted about 500 explosive devices in administrative buildings, schools, and other locations, including the Ministry of Defense and the Security Service of Ukraine.
The morning news reported that editorial offices, including Detector Media, had received similar letters from so-called “bombers.” In total, the police received more than 2,000 reports of possible mine attacks in more than 20 regions of Ukraine, including Vinnytsia, Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk, Kyiv, Odesa, and Kharkiv.
Law enforcement officers are actively verifying the information; at this time, no explosives have been found at the facilities checked. According to the police, about 30% of the reports have already been processed.
This situation is not a coincidence, as similar threats have been made before – on October 14, November 26, and December 12, 2024. Many of the messages turned out to be false. Authorities believe that some of them may be linked to Russian IP addresses and have a common structure.
Law enforcement officers also reported the prevention of terrorist attacks against the military in the center of Odessa.
