5 most profitable and unprofitable banks in Ukraine in 2025

The National Bank of Ukraine presented the rating of the most profitable banks for 2025, in which PrivatBank again takes first place with a net profit of UAH 29.1 billion, down 27.6% from 2024. At the same time, some banks demonstrated significant profitability growth, while others recorded losses.

According to the NBU, in 2025, the leaders in net profit were:

PrivatBank (state-owned) – UAH 29.1 billion (a decrease of 27.6% compared to last year, accounting for 22.9% of banks’ total financial result).
Oschadbank (state-owned) – UAH 16.63 billion (more than twice as much as in 2024);
Raiffeisen Bank – UAH 10.74 billion (an increase of 2.5 times);
Universal Bank (mono) – UAH 10.33 billion (also a 2.5-fold increase);
Ukreximbank (state-owned) – UAH 8.86 billion (an increase of more than three times).
The second five included FUIB (UAH 8.05 billion), Ukrsibbank (UAH 5.80 billion), OTP Bank (UAH 5.45 billion), Credit Agricole (UAH 5.19 billion), and Ukrgasbank (UAH 4.87 billion). In addition, seven more banks showed a profit of more than UAH 1 billion: Citibank (UAH 4.49 billion), Sense Bank (UAH 3.22 billion), Yuzhny (UAH 2.94 billion), A-Bank (UAH 1.80 billion), Kredobank (UAH 1.61 billion), ProCredit (UAH 1.29 billion), and TAScombank (UAH 1.08 billion).

At the same time, the NBU reported that 7 out of 60 banks ended the year with losses. The most significant losses were recorded in:

PIN Bank (state-owned) – loss of UAH 63.19 million (worsening compared to UAH 49.56 million in 2024);
Crystal Bank – loss of UAH 32.78 million (compared to profit of UAH 9.95 million in 2024);
Ukrainian Capital – loss of UAH 17.7 million (was UAH 7.28 million in 2024);
PrJSC “Transitional Bank “YUTE Bank” (successor to the insolvent “RVS Bank”) – loss of UAH 3.34 million.
