A new direction in defense technologies: young people will develop mechanics for FPV drones
The Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine has announced a student competition to develop an innovative solution for FPV drones. This involves creating a mechanical attachment that allows the drone to land on various surfaces at altitude.
University and college students are invited to participate. Teams can be formed independently and must consist of up to five people, including participants from different educational institutions.
The objective of the competition is to develop technology for so-called “waiting” drones. The idea is to create an attachment for FPV that allows drones to land on natural or artificial surfaces and to land safely at altitude. This will significantly expand drone use and increase their efficiency.
The competition will be held in several stages. At the first stage, participants must register and complete a qualifying task. Then the teams will work on creating physical prototypes and present their developments to an expert jury.
The teams whose projects are considered the most promising will be able to collaborate with drone manufacturers and R&D specialists for a month. The final stage will include flight tests, after which the winners will be announced, and a prize fund of 90 thousand hryvnias will be distributed.
This initiative is implemented with the support of the Ministry of Digital Transformation and the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine within the framework of the EU4UA Defence Tech project, funded by the European Union and implemented by BRDO in partnership with Brave1.
