В Україні оновлюють календар щеплень для дітей: кількість вакцин зменшиться

Ukraine is updating the vaccination calendar for children: the number of vaccines will decrease

New vaccination rules for young children will come into force in Ukraine from the beginning of 2026. The Ministry of Health reported that the country’s immunization system has moved to European standards, focusing on the use of combined vaccines.

The goal of the innovations is to introduce multicomponent vaccines that provide simultaneous protection against several dangerous infections. This will simplify the vaccination process for parents and children and provide comprehensive protection without unnecessary doctor visits.

Thanks to combined vaccinations, the number of injections is significantly reduced. The child receives a single injection instead of multiple injections, reducing stress during medical examinations and the number of doctor visits.

The new rule will also prevent vaccination failures. Multicomponent vaccines ensure a timely immune response, avoiding delays between vaccinations.

In particular, the changes affected vaccination against viral hepatitis B. Since 2026, this component has been included in the combined vaccine, which also covers protection against pertussis, diphtheria, tetanus and Hib infections.

According to the updated vaccination calendar, complex vaccinations will be administered at 2, 4, 6, and 18 months. At the same time, it is recommended to immunize against polio according to the schedule using an inactivated vaccine.

Doctors emphasize that such a combination of vaccines allows you to reduce the total number of injections in the first year and a half without losing the immune response. Parents are advised to consult pediatricians in advance to agree on a vaccination plan in accordance with the new standards.
