Heating shutdown begins in Kyiv on March 24: important points for residents

The heating season will officially end in Kyiv on March 24. This decision was made due to the increase in air temperature and in order to use heat resources more efficiently.

The capital administration has decided to stop supplying heat to residential buildings, based on current weather conditions and forecasts for the coming days. The Kyiv City State Administration reported the relevant information.

This step is also aimed at more economical use of energy during the period when the need for heating decreases.

Closing the heating season will allow residents to save on heating costs in conditions of rising temperatures.

Turning off the heat in residential buildings will begin on March 24.

Social infrastructure facilities, such as hospitals, maternity hospitals, schools and kindergartens, will be disconnected from heat individually, depending on the applications of the heads of these institutions.

The Cabinet of Ministers has allocated about UAH 1.2 billion for the construction of a municipal housing complex for internally displaced persons from Mariupol in Bila Tserkva, Kyiv region. The apartments will be rented on favorable terms – with repairs, furniture and appliances. Kindergartens, a school and an outpatient clinic will be located nearby. The completion of the first phase of 1,000 apartments is scheduled for the end of 2026.

According to the plan, this complex should become a full-fledged residential town, not just a residential area. Kindergartens, a school and medical facilities are provided here. It is also planned to create a barrier-free environment and specially adapted apartments for people with disabilities in accordance with European standards of inclusion.
