Mass blocking of accounts at Privat24: customers left without funds due to a failure
PrivatBank clients are complaining about problems with the Privat24 service, which caused their accounts to be automatically closed and money to disappear. This information was published by users on the Minfin platform.
One of the clients discovered that his credit card had disappeared from Privat24 and was not displayed in the payment service. Initially, the bank’s support explained this by a possible self-closing of the account, but later it was found out that the problem was caused by a technical failure.
The user notes that due to this incident, his account was automatically closed. According to the operator, the situation could have affected other clients as well.
According to information from the support service, the accounts were closed due to a massive technical failure, as a result of which the clients’ funds were written off for charitable purposes. However, the exact timing of the account restoration is not yet known.
At the moment, PrivatBank has not commented on the situation regarding the scale of the problem or the reasons for the failure.
It was previously reported that PrivatBank is terminating contracts with clients, blocking accounts and not returning money. It also became known that the National Bank has launched a system of 24-hour monitoring of bank payments.
Clients also received clarification on the procedure for returning funds in case the money was transferred to strangers.
