Crimson Desert has its first update since the game’s release
Pearl Abyss has released its first update for Crimson Desert since its launch, focusing on improving controls, fixing bugs, and balancing combat mechanics.
Among the main innovations is improved control responsiveness. The developers have accelerated the character’s reaction to jumping and interacting with the interface, which has made the game more dynamic. The quick slot system has also been revised: now, if the player selects an already equipped item again, it is automatically removed.
The update also fixed a number of technical issues. For example, a bug associated with a delay in the main menu has been fixed, and quests have been fixed. In the “Reunion” mission, situations where the cat stops showing the way no longer occur, and in the “Turnala’s Request” mission, a malfunction has been fixed that prevented the task from being completed when the shield was upgraded again.
The changes also affected the bosses: some of them have reduced their health and attack power, and the stun gauge fills up faster with successful parries. The vulnerability system has also been improved: the corresponding effects are now visible without prior knowledge. In addition, the difficulty of ambushes on the way to the Reed Devil boss has been simplified.
In addition, new features have been added to the game. In particular, the number of Abyss nodes on the continent has increased for convenient fast movement, a personal storage for items has appeared, and the process of gaining knowledge has been accelerated. The number of blows required to chop down trees has been reduced.
However, discussions have flared up again in the player community regarding the use of generative artificial intelligence. Pearl Abyss confirmed that neural networks were used to create certain two-dimensional visual elements of the game.
