Experts warn: AI-generated resumes could hurt your career
It seems that entrusting the preparation of a resume to artificial intelligence is a simple and effective option. However, this, at first glance, convenient solution may hide risks that can negatively affect the candidate.
It is important to remember that Ukrainian applicants should not completely rely on neural networks in such an important aspect. Although artificial intelligence is able to beautifully formulate thoughts and turn even boring experience into an attractive “professional case”, there are some caveats.
The problem is that such texts often look standardized, as if they were written by the same person for the entire list of candidates.
However, this is not the only problem. Algorithms can “invent” facts, embellish experience, add skills, or even indicate achievements that were not actually there. On the surface, all this may look impressive, but during an interview it can become an awkward situation if the employer starts asking questions and you cannot give an answer.
Experts recommend not to abandon technology altogether, but to use it with caution. Artificial intelligence can be a great help in structuring information, suggesting successful vocabulary or replacing trivial words with more professional ones.
However, preparing the final version of the resume remains the responsibility of the candidate. Fact-checking, correctness of information and reliability of data are things that should not be left to the conscience of algorithms.
So, an important rule remains unchanged: a personalized resume will always be the most effective. After all, employers are looking for not just impeccable text, but a real person with unique experience and history. At the moment, artificial intelligence is not able to imitate this human essence convincingly enough.
Recall that Facebook offers up to $ 3,000 for positions, trying to lure authors from TikTok and YouTube.
