An electronic barrier will be installed on the border of Ukraine and Poland
Poland intends to strengthen control on its border with Ukraine by introducing an electronic barrier, according to information provided by the Polish publication RMF24.
This project involves the implementation of modern surveillance systems, including underground cables, video cameras and thermal imagers, which will operate continuously.
All information collected from these technical means will be sent to the border guard headquarters. This will allow for a faster response to potential threats or attempts to illegally cross the border.
Preliminary estimates indicate that the implementation of the project will cost approximately PLN 450 million.
The Polish authorities emphasized that the new system will significantly increase the level of control on the border.
“This will allow for a quick response to any attempts to illegally cross the border and other threats,” representatives of the relevant services noted.
Electronic barriers are already used on other sections of the Polish border, in particular on the border with Belarus, where such systems help to control the border zone more effectively.
