It is urgent to digitize the work book to ensure pension payments
Digitization of work books is an issue that requires urgent attention from certain categories of Ukrainians. Some of them may face serious problems when applying for a pension if they do not have time to digitize their documents. This was noted by experts from the channel “Na pensiyi”.
Pensioners who completed their work before retirement do not need to do anything – their data has long been checked and is stored in the archive of the Pension Fund. This also applies to young specialists who started working after January 1, 2004: data on their work experience is automatically recorded in electronic databases thanks to the payment of a single social contribution.
Problems with digitization may arise for those who worked in the 80s, 90s and early 2000s. Information about their work experience was not recorded in electronic format, so the paper work book becomes the only evidence.
Experts advise this category of people to urgently digitize their documents, without postponing it until the deadline of June 10, 2026. In the event of loss or damage to the work record book, for example, due to fire or hostilities, proving work experience will become extremely difficult.
Experts also warn that without original documents, confirming work experience in the 80s and 90s will require finding witnesses and may lead to lengthy legal proceedings.
It was recently reported that Ukrainians will receive new pensions from April, as well as changes in commissions for transfers to “Privat24” and new compensations that will be provided in April.
