Among the variants of such dishes, gambits with cherry sauce stands out. This recipe became famous thanks to one of the most popular food bloggers on social media.

What you need:

  • Cottage cheese – 300 grams
  • Yolk – 1 pc.
  • Sugar – 50-60 grams
  • Salt – a pinch
  • Flour – 30 grams
  • Semolina – 30 grams
  • Breadcrumbs – 100 grams
  • Sugar (for rolling) – 50 grams

For the cherry sauce:

  • Cherries – 200 grams
  • Sugar – 20 grams
  • Corn starch – 10 grams
  • Water – 45 ml
  • Lemon juice – 1 tablespoon

Step-by-step instructions:

Combine cottage cheese, egg yolk, sugar, salt, flour, and semolina in a deep bowl.

Leave the dough to stand for 15 minutes. Form balls, place the filling in the middle, and then shape them into balls again. Boil the balls in salted boiling water for 3-4 minutes after they float.

Now, fry the breadcrumbs, cool them, and mix them with sugar. Roll the finished cheese balls in this mixture. To make the sauce, combine the cherries, sugar, lemon juice, and starch dissolved in water. Cook until it thickens, stirring constantly.

Cooking the sauce is unnecessary – sour cream is an excellent addition to the dish. Earlier, we shared a recipe for stuffed eggplant kebabs, a perfect suggestion for a spring picnic.
