The Ministry of Social Policy reported the most significant pension amount in Ukraine
Since the beginning of the year, Ukraine has introduced restrictions on very high pensions. In particular, new coefficients have been introduced for payments exceeding 23,610 hryvnias.
This was announced by the Minister of Social Policy, Oksana Zholnovych, in an interview with “Obozrevatel“.
“This decision applies only to the highest pensions and does not affect the insurance part that people accumulate through contributions. It is important to emphasize that these restrictions do not apply to veterans who participated in hostilities, as well as to pensions for the families of fallen defenders,” she noted.
The minister added that this decision was made to make the pension system fairer and reduce inequality between pensions assigned under special laws and those assigned under general rules.
“Already, in January, this significantly reduced the burden on the Pension Fund by about 120 million hryvnias, and by the end of the year, we will have received a positive financial resource exceeding a billion hryvnias. These funds will be used to fulfill obligations to all pensioners,” the official noted.
She also reported that the largest pension in Ukraine is currently 51,042 hryvnias.
On the eve, Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy spoke in the Verkhovna Rada, outlining the country’s main challenges. One of the key issues raised by the president was the introduction of multiple citizenship, which is necessary to strengthen the state.
