Trump’s approval rating hits lowest level since his return to the White House
US President Donald Trump’s approval rating has reached its lowest level since returning to the White House on January 20.
This is reflected in a recent Reuters/Ipsos poll that ended on Monday.
Only 42% of respondents expressed satisfaction with his performance as president, which is one percentage point lower than three weeks ago.
It is worth noting that at the beginning of his inauguration, the approval rating was 47%.
While Trump’s rating remains higher than that of his predecessor, Joe Biden, during the same period, the poll shows that a certain portion of Americans is dissatisfied with his intentions regarding universities, which they consider “too liberal.”
57% of respondents, including a third of Republicans, do not support the idea that “the president has the right to suspend funding for universities because of disagreement with their management.”
Also, 59% of the survey participants – including about a third of Republicans – believe that America is losing credibility on the international stage.
About 83% of the 4,306 respondents believe that the president should comply with federal court decisions, even if he does not like it.
In addition, 75% of respondents opposed a possible third term for Trump in the presidential election.
Not so long ago, Elon Musk announced that he plans to leave the post of head of the US Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).
