Garbage destroyed forests, and poaching: The State Environmental Inspectorate has calculated the losses – millions of hryvnias per week
The biggest problems were found in the forests of Transcarpathia and Prykarpattia, as well as in the waters of the Poltava region. The state is investigating who is responsible for the damage caused to nature.
Weekly inspections: hundreds of protocols and millions of fines
Last week, the State Environmental Inspectorate carried out 431 inspections, resulting in 404 administrative protocols being drawn up. The total fines imposed were 110 thousand hryvnias, of which 104 thousand had already been paid to the state budget.
However, the most significant concern is the damage caused to nature, which is estimated at 12.86 million hryvnias. More than 4.84 million hryvnias have already been collected – partly voluntarily, partly through the courts.

Transcarpathia
Uzhhorod City Council received a claim for 578 thousand hryvnias due to solid household waste pollution of the city territory.
Lazeshchyna Forestry: illegal felling of trees worth 8.28 million hryvnias. The case was transferred to the State Bureau of Investigation.
Ivano-Frankivsk Region: Two hundred eighty-nine trees were cut down on the territory of Dubovetska Village Council, which caused damage worth 2.23 million hryvnias. The information was transferred to the regional prosecutor’s office and the police.
Poltava Region
Unknown persons illegally caught fish in the water area of the Sulynskyi protection zone, causing damage worth over 1.14 million hryvnias. The materials were transferred to the police.
The environmental inspectorate’s task is to assess the damage caused and ensure the punishment of those who committed it. All the facts revealed have been transferred to law enforcement agencies. Ahead are court proceedings, the imposition of fines, and possibly new criminal cases.
