Almost human-sized: A woman raised a big cat in Moldova

In Moldova, a woman introduced her large cat Zeus, which resembles a person in size—its height is 130 cm, and its weight reaches 13 kg.

According to the Daily Star, IT specialist Daniela Ermolaeva dreamed of a Maine Coon since childhood, but did not have the opportunity to buy such a cat.

Maine Coon is a breed originating from the American state of Maine. These large and hardy animals are characterized by activity and the ability to adapt to different conditions.

Daniela was amazed when her boyfriend Liviu gave her a Maine Coon, whom they named Zeus. When receiving the gift, the cat had already exceeded their eight-year-old cat, Mata, in size.

As the publication notes, this “gentle giant” is not only large, but also learns tricks: gives a paw, presses the palm, and even presses buttons to get treats. He sleeps on a large bed, which is usually a good size for a husky, but even in such a bed, there is not enough space for his tail.

The cat’s owner decided to create a separate social media page for her furry friend to share his life with others.

“He is a great actor, even though he is a cat. He can do something for 10 seconds, then he wants to lie down, as if saying: “Give me food, please. I am Zeus, the majestic cat,” Daniela shared her emotions.

When Zeus stands on his hind legs, he almost reaches the height of his owner. A year before his first birthday, he weighed 10 kg and grew by one kilogram yearly. Now, at the age of four, he weighs 13 kg and continues to increase in size.
